Worldbinder (The Runelords, Book 6), by David Farland

Certain works of fantasy are immediately recognizable as monuments, towering above the rest of the category. Authors of those works, such as George R.R. Martin, Robert Jordan, and Terry Goodkind, come immediately to mind. Add to that list David Farland, whose epic Runelords series continues now in Worldbinder. After the events of Sons of the Oak, Fallion and Jaz, the sons of the great Earth King Gaborn, are now living as fugitives in their own kingdom. Their former home has been invaded and secretly controlled by supernatural being of ultimate evil. The sons are biding their time until they can regain their rightful places in the land. Fallion seems destined to heal the world, and feels the calling to act. When he attempts to do so though, two entire worlds collapse into one, and nothing will ever be the same again.

From Publishers Weekly
Two worlds collide in the sixth installment of Farland's Runelords epic (after 2006's Sons of the Oak). When the Seal of Creation was broken, the original, peaceful home of humanity shattered into thousands of flawed worlds, of which Earth is one. Seeking to mend the Seal of Inferno, which was damaged by the evil Queen of the Loci after her escape from the netherworld, flameweaver Fallion Orden instead reunites Earth with another world, causing strange meldings of bodies and landscapes. As inhabitants of both worlds struggle to comprehend the changes to themselves and their surroundings, various evildoers take advantage of the chaos, and Fallion and his companions must do what most heroes do: save the world and stay alive. Farland excels in dreamlike imagery that describes much but explains little, and the wildly complicated plot and lack of backstory may frustrate new readers.

Surreal.
By Jerry Hart
I found this to be the most surreal book in the series. Maybe even the most imaginative. I love the idea of two worlds combining, resulting in changed landscapes and people. The book was a lot of fun to read, though Farland continues his annoying habits of omnipotent narration and not italicizing characters' thoughts. At one point, late in the book, he jumps between three different character POVs in just a few paragraphs. It left my head spinning, and not in a good way. Other than those complaints, I'm in love with this series.

Book Review
By Todd Morris
I've read this entire series and I have to say that I liked the first couple of books much better than the the last ones. The story is not very cohesive from book to book after the first four. After the fourth book each one introduces entirely new characters that may have little or nothing to do with the previous book. Each book ends with too many unfinshed issues. Generally the first four books in this series is really well written and intersting, after that not so much.

Fantastic
By B. Wilson
Yet another fine entry into the runelords saga. This one follows Sons of The Oak and takes a fantastic plot delve of worldbinding proportions. If you enjoyed Sons of The Oak (the first of the new Fallion-led storyline) then this one is a must read. I just finished it last night and I've already started Wyrmling Horde because I was so hooked into the story. Its a nice piece.
